GAMEabling

GAME-Abling is a software technology for the creation of accessible games with the aim of improve physical activity of disabled people. This different approach was aimed at benefitting both caregivers/ therapists as they will be able to design easily customized games for their patients and disabled people thereby improving their fitness while playing. The main therapy focuses on helping the disable person to develop as many motor skills as possible while also encouraging social inclusion. Though traditional therapy can be very expensive, causing a huge or unaffordable burden on families, playing digital games can promote health and well-being for people with disabilities. However, due to the restrictions in body movements, playing normal video games is not possible for most disable patients. The control of such games needs to be specifically tailored to cover for their limitations, while at the same time create fun and engaging them enough so they are motivated to play them and improve.  GAMEAbling website
